Is kosher meat more humane?

I was a vegetarian for about a year but gave up because of iron deficiency. I'd like to go back to vegetarianism one day but in the meantime I only buy free range meat and was wondering if Kosher meat is more humane, because I know the animals are supposed to be killed quickly and painlessly. I'm not Jewish so there's no religious reason for me to be eating it, but is it more humane than other meat?
